This Privacy Policy describes what information we collect about you, and how we use that information. We will only use your information in accordance with the terms of this Privacy Policy, and in no event shall we sell or rent your personally identifiable information, or a list of our customers, to a third party. TRUSTe is an independent, non-profit organization whose mission is to build users’ trust and confidence in the Internet by promoting the use of fair information practices. This privacy statement covers the site www.remithome.com. Because this web site wants to demonstrate its commitment to your privacy, it has agreed to disclose its information practices and have its privacy practices reviewed for compliance by TRUSTe. We may revise this policy from time to time. If we make any material changes to any provisions regarding the use or disclosure of your personally identifiable information, we will offer you the chance to decide whether or not we will use or disclose your information in that new manner. However, if you have closed your remithome membership account, you will not be notified of, and your information will not be affected by, changes to the Privacy Policy.

Required Account Information
In order to open a remithome account, you must provide your name, address, phone number, email address, and driver’s license information or other government-issued form of identification. To use the remittance service, you are required to provide bank account, credit card or debit card information (which may include account numbers, as well as voided checks and/or copies of account statements). We may ask you to send some of this information to us via postal mail or fax. As a security measure, we may ask you to provide other information, such as your mother’s maiden name. The information we require is necessary for us to process transactions, protect your financial accounts from fraud, facilitate secure account access, comply with applicable laws and regulations, and to communicate with you whenever necessary to administer your account.
Information About Recipients and Transaction Information
We ask you to provide additional information in order to send money using our service. That information includes your recipients’ name and contact information, and, if you choose a direct deposit into a recipient’s bank account, the name of the recipient’s bank and the recipient’s account number. For each transaction, you must specify an amount of money to send. We retain transaction information, including information about your recipients, for each transaction you send through the remithome service. However, we will not use transaction information for marketing purposes. We will not contact your recipients except as instructed by you or as required to complete a transaction.
Information About You from Third Parties
We ensure the security and integrity of our service by verifying with third parties the information our customers provide, and we receive personally identifiable information about you from those third parties. Information from third parties may include reports provided by credit and debit card authorization and fraud detection services, which can be used to verify the home address you provided to us, or to verify that the card has not been reported as lost or stolen.
Correspondence
If you send correspondence to us, including faxes and emails, we keep that information in our records of your account. We will also keep copies of correspondence that we have sent to you. We retain these records in order to provide effective customer service, and also to investigate potential errors or instances of fraud pertaining to your account. We may delete these records periodically as permitted by law.
Web Site Usage Information
Due to the operating standards of the World Wide Web, we will automatically receive the web address of the site that you came from or are going to, whenever you enter or exit the remithome web site. We do not track the web sites you visit before or after visiting our site. We do collect information regarding which pages of our site you visit, the times of day you visit, and your web browser type. We also collect the Internet address (IP address) of the computer or device from which you access your account. The IP address can help us detect potential unauthorized transactions.
We also apply broad, non-personally-identifying demographic information, which we may supplement with information obtained from third parties, as a means to understand aggregate usage patterns of our site.
We use this web site usage information in order to understand our customers’ needs, and to improve our service by managing the load on our servers.
“Cookies”
“Cookies” are data files that reside on your computer. Whenever you log into your account using your user id and password, we use a session ID cookie to recognize you as you move from one page to another on our web site. Use of the session ID cookie ensures that you do not need to enter your password multiple times as you view different pages on the site. Session ID cookies expire and become ineffective after you logoff from the web site.
We do not link the information we store in cookies to any personally identifiable information you submit while on our site.
We use persistent cookies, which remain on your computer’s hard drive for an extended period of time, in order to recognize you as a remithome member when you return to our site from the same computer and browser. Persistent cookies allow us to display your email address automatically on our login form, which we do as a convenience to you.
Note that third party web sites such as paid search engine services may also set cookies on the remithome site for the purpose of tracking conversion of ads delivered by their search pages. These cookies do not collect or track personally identifying information and is only used for conversion tracking purposes.
We partner with third party advertising companies to serve ads when you visit other websites. These companies may use cookies or web beacons to collect non-personally identifiable information such as IP address, pages viewed, and if a conversion occurred during your visit to our site. Surveys and Contests
From time to time our site requests information from users via surveys or contests, participation in which is completely voluntary. Whenever you send money to a recipient using the remithome service, we will disclose to that recipient your name, your email address, and the amount of the transaction.
Disclosure to Third Parties Other Than Your Recipients
remithome will not rent or sell your personally-identifying information to any third party without your express permission. We will not share your personally-identifying information with any third party, except to your recipients as described above, and except as described below or with your express permission.
The third parties listed below, with whom we share information about you, are forbidden by law or by contract from using the information in any way that does not serve the purpose for which the information was shared. We share information with banks and other financial institutions in order to fulfill your requests to send money to your recipients or otherwise process your transactions. We also share information with companies that assist us to protect against fraud; for example, we share credit card numbers with services that can detect lost and stolen card numbers.
If you owe us money and we are unable to collect it directly from you in a prompt fashion, we may share information with credit bureaus, collection agencies or similar processing companies. We disclose some of the contact information we collect to companies that perform marketing services on our behalf. For example, we will sometimes disclose information to marketing firms in order to help us distribute and process questionnaires to our customers. These companies are bound by legal restrictions, as well as confidentiality agreements with us, that prohibit the use of the information except to market the specified remithome-related products or services, unless you have expressly agreed or given your prior permission otherwise.
When we in good faith believe it is appropriate, we disclose information in order to cooperate in investigations of illegal activity or violations of the Terms and Conditions of the remithome service. Furthermore, we disclose information in response to any legal process that we believe (correctly or not) to be valid, including any writ of attachment, adverse claim, garnishment, levy, tax, execution, restraining order, warrant, subpoena or other legal process.
In the event that remithome is ever merged with or acquired by another company, the successor company would have access to the information retained by remithome, including customer account information. However, that successor company would continue to be bound by this Privacy Policy unless and until such time that the policy is amended according to Section 1, above.
4. Communications to Customers
Communications to remithome Customers
We communicate with users regularly in the course of providing requested services. We use your email address to confirm the opening of your remithome membership account; to send you notice of payments that you send through the service; to distribute important information about changes to our products and services; and to send notices and other disclosures as required by law or the terms of our agreement with you. We use your telephone number in the event that there is a complaint or problem that we are resolving, or to investigate suspicious account activity. These types of communications are primarily for informational (and not promotional) purposes, and users generally cannot choose to be excluded from receiving them.
We also use your email address to send other information, including customer newsletters, promotional materials and customer surveys, related to our service. You have the option to receive promotional materials from third parties and you may state your preferences during the sign up process or anytime thereafter by logging into the web site or contacting customer service. You may change your choice at any time once you have enrolled in the service.
remithome participates in periodic corporate audits of our business operations and finances. As part of this procedure, and in order to confirm the accuracy of our records, our auditors may contact a sample group of our customers. The auditors shall be prohibited from using customer information in any way that is not germane to the completion of their auditing tasks.
Communications Based on Referrals
When you enroll in the remithome service, we will provide you with the opportunity to gain referral bonuses when your friends sign up for the service and complete the bonus requirements. You may provide us with the name and email address of your friends, and we will send to them a one-time email inviting them to visit the site. remithome stores this information for the sole purposes of sending this one-time email and tracking the success of our referral program. Anyone referred by you may contact remithome to request the removal of this information from our database. Your name will be included in the email we send to your referred friends. You are responsible for using the referral program reasonably, and in accordance with the conditions we provide to you upon enrollment. Specifically, we strongly discourage any behavior leading to the dissemination of bulk emailing campaigns, known as “spam”.
remithome will employ high standards of security to store and use your information. Sensitive information, such as details about your bank, credit card and debit card accounts, is encrypted and stored on computers that are protected by physical, procedural and technological security measures, in accordance with United States federal regulations regarding your non-public personal information. Furthermore, whenever we collect sensitive personal information from you, we use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption technology to ensure that your information is protected while it is being transmitted to us. We store and process your personal information on computers located in the United States.
You are responsible for protecting your account password, an important element of your account’s security. Whenever your user identification and password are entered into the login area of our web site, remithome must assume that it is you, the Member, who is using the account. You are responsible for all transactions that take place using your Membership Account. Therefore, you should not provide your user identification and password to anybody. If you believe your password has been compromised, please contact us immediately (see the service Terms and Conditions for more information).
6. Accessing and Changing Your Information
You can review or edit any personal information you provided us by logging in to the site and selecting the “My Profile” link in the “My remithome” page. You will also have the option to change your account preferences using the links provided in the “My remithome” page.
